Fidelity Investments Rolls Out Dollar-Based Investing

BOSTON, Mass. – Fidelity Investments launches fractional share trading or what is also called a dollar-based investing as it aims to revolutionize and simplify investing.

Fidelity Investments is an online brokerage company. The firm just published a statement that it is going to start rolling out fractional trading to all its retail investors. The recent move from the brokerage firm is in line with their goals towards simplifying the current investment processes. Fidelity Investments, through the dollar-based investing, will allow their clients to trade shares even as little as 0.001. The new fractional trading for the firm will start rolling out on their Fidelity Mobile applications for both Android and iOS mobile devices.

The head of the retail brokerage business of Fidelity Investments, Scott Ignall, said that investing with the company just got more convenient and easier for all customers. He also stated that with the new dollar-based investing that Fidelity Investments is going to launch, investing will be more accessible to everyone.

Ignall explained that using the award-winning Fidelity brokerage platform and mobile apps, their clients will now have a chance to buy a portion of their favorite companies. Leveraging on their service will also allow their customers to gain access to ETFs of those companies, which will be based on the amount they want to invest, and not based on the share price, he said.

Ignall further stated that with the private structure, size, and the chief position of Fidelity in a wide variety of marketplaces, including intermediary, institutional, and retail markets, are unmatched. Their overall reputation and capability are among the highest in the industry, which also puts them in the top position to provide their customers with greater value than most.

Furthermore, aside from providing access to dollar-based investing to their customers, Fidelity Investments will also provide easy access to high-quality ETF and stock research to help customers generate and confirm excellent investing ideas.

Also, aside from being a top name in the investing industry, Fidelity Investments claims to be the only company that offers its customers zero online commissions for both ETF and stock trading. They also claim to be the only firm that has fees for the retail brokerage accounts they offer, zero account minimums imposed to customers, and a much higher cash sweep percentage regardless of the assets that customers want to invest in.

Meanwhile, Fidelity Investments is planning to provide all their dollar-based investments in real-time throughout the market hours, which will let investors view the share prices. This offer that Fidelity is planning on will make it easier for customers to make fractional trades instantly and eliminate having to wait before they can trade.
